Vertical vs. horizontal gaming enclosures

After the launch of our new tower Nfortec Synistra with its new vertical installation, you are undoubtedly wondering what are the differences compared to a horizontal installation and why choose one model over another. If you want to know more about the differences between the models of our tower family, don't miss this post. Are you going to read us?

Synistra, an evolution in hardware

are 90-degree rotated enclosures worth it? We usually place the cases on the right side, because this way we can see the components and their RGB lighting. Rotating the components has a number of advantages and disadvantages, and this way we will place the case on the left side if it is a tower with vertical installation. So we will have to rotate our components 90 degrees and the connections will be located at the top of the case. At first it may be a shocking change, but it has a number of advantages that we will discuss below

Pros and cons of vertical mounting

Mounting a tower vertically is not much different than mounting a case horizontally. The pros of mounting your equipment vertically is that the entire bottom of the motherboard is easier to access, because you have it more in plain sight. It is also very easy to access the CPU connector. The graphics card gets priority space in the Synistra tower, as it collects all the cold air as soon as it enters our case. Therefore, having a case with vertical installation means having a plus if you are going to use your equipment to play video games, since the graphics card will be cooled in the best possible way

On the other hand, we will have better accessibility to the power supply connector if we mount it horizontally instead of vertically. And the airflow can be better distributed to all components and not only to the graphics card, unless we put two fans behind the graphics card if we opt for a vertical configuration and installation

Vertical installation + liquid cooling

The air is redirected more optimally if we opt for a vertical configuration, so if we accompany this liquid with proper ventilation, we will get a good overall airflow for the entire tower gamer. Having a liquid cooling for this type of configuration is a must. Therefore, if we add a Hydrus V2, Hydrus RGB or Atria in its 120 or 240 mm model we will get a winning configuration against a traditional horizontal installation as the one we can have in the Krater tower

Synistra is an optimal box to play with graphics cards that do not have very large dimensions. Or if we opt for a very large graphics card, it is advisable to introduce more ventilation than in a horizontal installation. For example, it would be advisable to get a Velorum Combo to add that extra cooling that will be necessary
