Now that we already have all the components for our pc and we have even made a first assembly of the whole set, we look at it and we realize that it is not for us, that the pieces separately fit, but together they do not reach our heart. But, don't worry, we don't have to return the components for our computer that we have already purchased. Thanks to modding we can give a facelift to our computer and get the design we have always dreamed of. Do you dare to discover what we are talking about?
where does the term come from?
The modding is an English term that comes to mean customization. If we transfer this concept to the world of hardware or computing in general, we find the modification, by users, of any of the components of their computer.
what is the purpose of modding?
The main objective of modding is to get out of the routine to which we sometimes find ourselves when we start to starting to assemble a pc. Each box is different, has a particular design, but we have already seen enough designs to want to make our own from one already created. We will be able to customize our equipment at will (both inside and outside) and we will only need our imagination and some materials that we will add to make the whole look totally different from what we have seen so far.
what does it consist of?
Although the modding can be done both inside and outside, the most common practice is the external modification, especially of the gaming towers. This modality is known as Hardmodding and ranges from color changes in the original paint of the model to more complex changes that modify the structure of the same. The most popular modding is oriented towards achieving a computer that is different from the rest. The passion for this practice within the computer world is such that once a year there is even a convention of modding convention under the name of Case Mod World Series, in which the work done by fans can be exhibited.
The most common modifications
One of the most recurring customizations in the world of modding is the place and the number of windows or holes that the gaming case has and that will allow to see to a greater or lesser extent the inside of the case. Most of the holes are filled with transparent polycarbonate to be able to see inside the tower. Another of the most popular modifications is the change of lighting inside the PC. Usually it is done with LED light and in many occasions the lights are usually synchronized with the sound controls.
We are no longer talking about customization, in many cases, as in the one we see in the video of the modding of Dj Mariio's pc, we could even talk about art. What do you think? will you mod your next computer?
